Important Things to Know for 2023-2024

Wichita Falls ISD Cafeteria Plan

Our Cafeteria Plan Year runs from September 1st through August 31st each year. We will automatically pre-tax all your eligible health insurance premiums as allowed by the Cafeteria Plan. Remember once the plan year starts you cannot make any changes to your coverage mid-year unless it’s due to a Qualified Life Event (QLE). The QLE’s are due to marriage, divorce, Medicaid/Medicare eligibility, birth/adoption of a child and involuntary loss of other coverage. You have 31 days from the event date to make any changes. Please contact the Insurance Office right away to report the event, and provide supporting documents.  If you are not sure if you have a qualifying event contact the Insurance Office.

New Pharmacy Carrier: TRS Active-care medical plans will have Express Scripts as the new pharmacy carrier effective 9/1/23. For those individuals that currently have a 90 day mail order to your home through CVS Caremark it will automatically be transferred over to Express Scripts.

SaveOn SP is a program that is comparable to CVS’ Prudent RX for specialty medications. Most if not all medications that were under your Prudent RX will be under the SaveOn Program. Participants who have been on Prudent RX will transition to the SaveOn Program. Participants will be receiving communication from Express Scripts and will be contacted about the program after annual enrollment.

Very Important: For every person you may cover on any of your health insurance, or name as a beneficiary, you will need to list their date of birth and Social Security Number in the system, so please have them available when enrolling. Please make sure that on the “Personal Information” page that your current email is listed, and all required information is up to date on you and each dependent.
